HUMAN RESOURCE CONSULTANCY SERVICES
Our professional skills are based on our experience of senior management positions within the personnel field. The main requirements that schools have in this field lie in the fields of pay and benefits, personnel policies and performance development. Our services are available on a project basis subject to an agreed assignment brief and project fee. PAY AND BENEFITS Although there is a tendency to follow UK salary scales for British trained teachers new approaches are increasingly being tried in the overseas and independent sectors. These will often involve new structures based on service and responsibility, with less emphasis on allowances. Outside the state sector there is increasing opportunity to develop benefits and incentives which reflect the particular nature of the school, the environment in which it operates and the goals that is seeks to achieve. We have the capability to asses the needs, recommend strategy and advise on the implementation of the agreed recommendations. PERSONNEL POLICIES We can undertake the process of codification of a school's existing policies, assessing the needs for the future and recommending policy developments and new introductions. The preparation of a master policy manual for the schools provides a basis for management to operate effectively within a policy framework which prevents ad-hoc decision making and the creation of dangerous precedents. Regular review of the policy manual ensures that the school maintains an up-to-date approach with the minimum of management time devoted to the review process. PERFORMANCE DEVELOPMENT The process of performance measurement and development, usually surrounding a formal appraisal process, is increasingly being used to improve individual performance by managers and teachers. Our experience of these systems in the commercial and educational worlds enables us to tailor a system to the needs of the particular school and to assist management in the implementation of the process. GENERAL HUMAN RESOURCE ADVICE TO MANAGERS We are available, where we have an existing client relationship with a school, to provide advice to managers on any particular situation which may be encountered. This may include disciplinary issues, training and development questions and any other management questions relating to employment and employees. We do not generally charge for advice of this nature unless a significant amount of work is involved. |
